After years of dreaming about this place I finally made it across to the Netherlands to visit the famous tulip fields! It felt so surreal to finally be able to experience this for myself as it’s something that’s been on my bucket list for years. Unfortunately a lot of the tulips were cut down the day before we arrived (talk about bad luck), but we still caught some gorgeous fields. The tulip season was very short this year due to an incredibly cold Spring. They usually make it to May but there were hardly any left in the last weeks of April!
I wore this gorgeous Free People set I found just before I left and paired it with a straw hat and sandals. I love the open back and beautiful detailing on the material. It’s also super comfortable to wear with the elastic waist band and flows like a dream.
I also want to note that we did get permission to shoot in these fields! Always get permission from the farmers/owners as you’re not allowed to just enter any tulip field. They are on private properties and the amount of tourists taking photos has sadly trampled a lot of the tulips.
Have you ever visited the tulip fields in Holland before? Until next year…
