Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa
Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa is a 5-star resort, or perhaps better referred to as an oasis nestled among lush palm groves, nestled within the 225 sq. kilometers of the regions’ unspoiled desert. I wish it was possible to transport every single person reading this to see it for yourself, because photos really don’t do it justice.
Since you are essentially in the middle of the desert, it is an all-inclusive resort which means breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included in your stay (not that you’d even want to leave anyway…) as well as daily activities in the desert. If you want to make your trip to Dubai extra special, Al Maha is the place to be. It was an unforgettable experience.
Everything about this resort feels lavish and luxurious. The staff will go above and beyond – no request is ever too small or too big. The food served in their Al Diwaan dining room is a mix of Arabic and Mediterranean cuisine. It’s nothing less than exceptional as you would imagine. There is also a terrace bar known as Hajar Bar, which boasts a stunning terrace with panoramic views of the desert!
One of the most impressive features of this resort is that each suite is equipped with its own private temperature-controlled infinity pool, with majestic dune and mountain views. There is also another main pool in their Timeless Spa should you wish to visit too. Pretty incredible. I don’t think I will ever get over how alive the sky is over there – I’ve never seen such vivid colours! It was always worth the early wakeup call.
I would suggest staying here a couple of nights if you’re interested in getting away from the city and immersing yourself in the desert. We chose to do 4 activities over the 2 days which included a falconry, FWD sand duning (little tip: don’t eat beforehand haha), sunset camel trekking and even a private camel ride. Other activities included archery, nature walks, Ghaf tree walk, desert drives, wildlife safaris, horse riding, and sundowners in the dunes.
