3 Beauty Products You Need in Your Makeup Bag

This feels strange to write because I don’t think I’ve sat down to write a beauty post in so long (just went back and it’s been almost 8 months… oh. my. god.) Truth be told, I fell out of love with makeup for a while. I stopped trying as many new products and became stuck in a routine of the same products. When I love a product, I become very loyal to it and hesitant to venture away and try new products. Does anyone relate? It’s hard to come out of especially when there’s been 93027423 new product releases since last stepping into Sephora. Slightly overwhelming.

But over the past few months I’ve started to branch out and get back into the beauty world. I feel like I’ve finally broken out of my beauty rut since discovering so many new incredible products. So I figured it was the perfect time to share with you all my recent ride-or-dies!

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

I was getting ready with friends before a night out and one of my girlfriends pulled out this little blush pink pot called the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector and started applying it under her eyes. Instantly her eyes are brightened and her face becomes radiant. By the time I had found out the name I was already logging into Sephora.com and ordering it. Can you say online shopping addiction? It arrived a week later and I haven’t been without it since. It’s applied around and under your eye area, almost like a primer, and then you apply concealer on top. It’s a very rich, luminscent cream that also preps the skin for a smooth coverage and stops concealer settling into fine lines. It sort of reminds me of a creamy highlighter and brightens like no other product does. It has very pink undertones which surprised me at first, but then I learned pink works wonders on counteracting sallow, dull skin and helps to soften unwanted under-eye olive and blue tones. Even if it looks like I haven’t slept in a week, I can always rely on this product to bring me back to life.

Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara

A good mascara is hard for me to come by because my lashes are long, heavy but don’t like to curl. I received the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara as part of a PR package and immediately went to buy a second (…and third) after it ran out. Hands down, this is one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used. It lengthens, volumises, and most importantly, curls and holds them. It doesn’t clump up no matter how many coats you apply (I usually do 2-3) and comes off with a few swipes of my micellar water. I wore this out for the first time and even my boyfriend (who sometimes fails to notice if I’m wearing false eyelashes – bless him) commented on how fluttery they looked! If that doesn’t say anything, I don’t know what will.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

If you’re real into the makeup world, you would have probably already heard of this product but in case you haven’t, let me introduce you. The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick provides a creamy-matte, full-coverage application that wont go drying out your lips. Enriched with Vitamin E and avocado oil, it stays in place for hours and doesn’t bleed or transfer once it sets. It’s so weightless, it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing anything. It’s also available in a beautiful range of colours but ‘carmello’ (as shown above) has been one of my go-to everyday nudes that I always receive a countless number of compliments on.
