The Career Advice Every 20-Something Needs to Know

If you didn’t know, I am very into podcasts.

More specifically, I am very into Gary Vee podcasts. If you haven’t heard, you haven’t lived.

They are marketed towards anyone in business, entrepreneurship, influences/bloggers, social media, marketing, branding and media. Basically, ANYONE trying to make an impact in this world or the market. His words have been my bible of sorts, as with many other people.

And although I think every piece of his advice is special, there is one that really struck a chord with me.

In one of his shows, a 22 year old girl called asking for some business advice, and his response turned into one of the most important pieces of advice for every 20 something year olds. Although I really believe it’s applicable with almost everyone.

Have you heard? Take a listen, or better yet, have a watch…

…Did it strike a chord with you too?

I thought I’d write up a little exercise from this just to further put things into perspective.

It made me think, over the weekend:

How much time did I spend comparing and admiring others?
How much time did I spend working on my career/business/social media?
How much time did I spend thinking about where I want to be rather than working to it?

I wont lie, the answers were a little alarming. What about yours? I would love to hear your thoughts on this. What is your age range? Can you relate to this? Any experiences you can share?
