Two Affordable Outfits for the Party Season

The party/holiday season is finally among us and I’m not sure about you guys, but it’s undoubtedly my favourite time of the year. Everyone is celebrating, it’s summer (at least here in Australia!), it’s festival season, and there’s an event on what seems like every weekend. Whether I’m headed to a club, out for a bar crawl, or to a dinner in town, I’m someone who always enjoys dressing up for the occasion. I love to celebrate any kind of event or milestone, in particular around this time of year, in a lavish way.

When the festive period has come and gone, with the price of gifts, end of year expenses and what not, I don’t really want to start splurging on party outfits. Instead, I’ve turned to one of the most affordable online retailers, Boohoo, to pick out a couple of party outfits for that wont break the bank.

I will admit that sometimes I reach for the all black outfit a little too often, but it’s just always been that comfortable go-to. I decided to go for this Caoimhe Plunge Wrap Shift Dress as I truly stand by the statement that wrap dresses are one of the most flattering dresses out there. I loved how simple and understated this one was, and the tie up detail gives it a bit of interest over any other plain black dress. And for $18, I’m not really sure how you can go wrong! It’s practically a steal. I paired it with a black sparkly clutch and these incredible pointed pumps with clear sides that I’m absolutely obsessing over as they’re a dupe for my all-time favourite Gianvito Rossi Plexi Pumps. Although if you want to break up all the black, the heels also come in a variety of different colours (currently eye-ing off the rose gold).

For the second outfit, I wanted to do something a bit more out of my comfort zone which world normally consist of plain dresses and skirts, and instead opted for pants. But not just any pants… metallic pleated culottes! I was initially a little uncertain of them even after receiving them, but once I put them on and paired them with the right accessories, it’s safe to say they’ve created a whole new favourite outfit for this party season (and probably many more to come). They’re so fun and comfortable to wear and create a statement without going overboard. And just like everything that comes from Boohoo, you can get them in so many different colours. I paired them with the same clear sided pumps and an off-the-shoulder crop top which I think was the perfect touch.
