Slip Dressing for Spring

pb1389321

With Spring rushing to an end, I’ve taken advantage of the few sunny days we had in Melbourne (seriously, I could probably count about 5) and had some wear out of this pretty little floral slip dress. I’m fairly certain this is the first slip dress I’ve ever worn in my life and I have to say, it’s probably the easiest piece of clothing I’ve ever worn.

The pajama dressing trend has been huge this season which saw some of the biggest fashion houses take underwear as outerwear up a notch by focusing on the slip dress. It’s made the slinky, spaghetti-strap dress both sartorially and socially acceptable.

They can feel sophisticated, sexy or even cute depending on the print, and can be worn in countless ways (for instance if you’re not ready to wear one alone, throw on a t-shirt to feel less exposed).

I haven’t had the guts to get a slip dress yet and I doubt I ever will since the only time I’ll be able to wear it is next year in like May or June so that trend might be gone by then. But that one is so pretty! I love the pattern! And it looks great with that denim jacket.
