On a weekend away in Daylesford, the spa capital of Australia, we made a pit stop at the Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm in Shepherds Flat.
If you have the opportunity to visit, you absolutely must. It’s an open farm, so you’re free to wander around as you please. We spent the morning strolling through garden walkways sheltered with vine-covered pergolas that lead to open fields surrounded by mountain ranges. Then we found the lavender fields, and I’m still not sure if I’m even a fan of lavender (which is odd considering how badly I wanted to go to this lavender farm), but it was really just beautiful. A photographers paradise, too.
We ended the morning at the cutest cafe with tables scattered around the trees. There were lavender options, naturally, including lavender champagne, lemonade and ice cream. I opted for the ice cream and I just could not wrap my head around the taste – it was the strangest thing!
It felt like the perfect spring day in the middle of summer.
