Chocolate Coconut Cookie Truffles

What food instantly takes you back to your childhood? These truffles make me feel like I’m 10 years old again. To be honest, I didn’t even know I was making them, I just came across this recipe and decided to give them a try on the weekend (because with cookie, coconut and chocolate – how could you not?). Apparently they’re actually called “yum yum balls” in Australia, which is odd because having lived here my whole life, I’ve never heard of that name. Regardless, these truffles are dangerously addictive and super simple to make, consisting of only four ingredients. I dare you to stop at one.

Chocolate Coconut Cookie Truffles

Makes 24

2 cups crushed cookie crumbs (you can use marie biscuits, digestive biscuits, graham cracker, etc.)
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 (14oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup dry unsweetened coconut flakes
Extra coconut for rolling

1. Combine the cookie crumbs, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, and 1 cup coconut in a large bowl. I threw the biscuits into a blender to crush them, but you can do it by hand too. Mix until combined and sticky.

2. Roll into 1 inch balls.

3. Coat the balls in the extra coconut.

4. Chill in fridge, or place in freezer (depends on personal preference) until ready to eat. I put them in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

P.s. they compliment a cup of tea or milk perfectly.
