The first Paleo cafe in Melbourne, Patch Cafe, is dedicated to healthy and nourishing food. My favourite is their Patch Bircher (made with coyo yogurt & coconut nectar), banana & almond hotcakes or famous Paleo French toast. Order with a side of cold prressed juice or organic almond milk latte and it makes one very happy morning.

3. Sardi Cafe
A snug little spot in Hawthorn has become a much loved place for health-conscious customers. Sardi serves up an all day Breakfast of acai smoothie bowls, organic granolas with buckinis, sunflower seeds & flaxseeds or my go-to: the superfood breakfast bowl.

Now in two locations, Nutrition bar offers everything from protein shakes, green smoothies to their famous acai bowls which come in several flavours. It’s a fantastic place if you’re looking for healthy, on-the-go meals or just finished up one of the many yoga classes down the road.

This place has quickly become one of my favourite plant-based cafes in Melbourne, with an ethos around providing foods that regulate neurotransmitters and
hormone activity within our bodies, keeping our mood and gut happy. There’s a wait on weekend mornings, so be sure to get their early to enjoy a choice to sit on the deck, indoors on swings or raised tatami-style sofas.

6. Little Big Sugar Salt
A quirky little cafe that emits a homely feel, LBSS is a lovely place to venture on a Sunday morning. They offer inventive breakfasts including the bowl of health, spiced pumpkin pancakes and quinoa & currant coconut porridge (with vegan custard & poached rhubarb!). They’re real showstoppers.

A cool cafe based in the North side of Melbourne that offers a light-filled (highly instagrammable) interior and clean white walls. They present an extensive menu including coconut and banana chia pudding, raw superfood salads, and ricotta hotcakes. Feel free to enjoy with a refreshing coconut cold brew on a sunny morning. P.s. their raw bliss balls are kind of amazing, too.

This cafe is all about promoting a plant-based diet, serving up free range, organic and fair trade dishes. Apart from the many superfood bowls, my recommendation is to pick up one of their delicious healthy raw treats and nourishing smoothies. There’s also access to a nutritionist and naturopath, turning it into more than just your average health cafe.
