Right: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – 015 Cherish Devotion
I just have to start off by saying that these balm stains are amazing and you can count on me to go back for some more. My favourite part about them is even after the gloss wears off, it still leaves you with the colour for so long (especially the darker colours). I wore sweetheart valentine yesterday basically all day and I hardly had to reapply. The staying power is so strong that it even stayed on after my shower! They have a pretty strong minty scent when you first open them but that dies down quickly after applying. They retail at $17.95 AUD which I think in all honesty is a bit pricey for this lip crayon, especially considering it’s a drugstore product. Luckily I managed to find these for sale at Myer for around $10. They also come in 10 different sweet shades.
Left: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm – 105 Demure Reservee
Right: Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm – 235 Mischievous Malicieuse
The ColorBurst’s were on sale so I thought I’d also grab a couple to test out since I haven’t before (I know I can’t believe I haven’t tried them either!). For me, Mischievous Malicieuse was a bit of a disappointment. It was a matte balm (and I do love matte finishes) but it really liked to cling itself to any dry skin, so make sure you exfoliate your lips before and they’re really hydrated. It wasn’t as pigmented as I would have liked it to be and no matter how many coats I put on, it didn’t build up the colour. My skin tone seemed to be too dark for it as well, but on the right person I can see this colour looking gorgeous. On the other hand, Demure Reservee was probably my favourite of the lot. It’s a pink nude with glitter running through it. It’s been my go-to during the day since it’s so easy to apply and feels really moisturising. So pretttty. They also retail at $17.95 AUD.
